Knowledge and Process Management incorporates the development, implementation and maintenance of a Knowledge Management Framework and system or systems and associated processes to facilitate the gathering, analysis, storage, utilisation and maintenance of knowledge, information and data collateral throughout the organisation.
“Knowledge” can exist across organisations in hard copy, digital and database forms.
- Modern Knowledge Management systems contain collateral in disparate disconnected databases, rather than a single central business-wide repository. Systems often used include WalkMe®, uPerform®, EnableNow®, Oracle-UPK®, Sharepoint® or ServiceNow®, to name the most popular.
- Process maps and documentation may currently be stored in ARIS®, Visio®, Promapp®, or even MS Office applications including Word, Excel or PowerPoint.
- Learning Management System applications (LMS) are often also integrated into a central Knowledge and Process Management capability.
Some applications have conversion capability so collateral can be consolidated into a single source from legacy sources.
- Archive boxes in storage, or in office storerooms can be full of hidden secrets, or hold the answers to questions often asked, but prove impossible to interrogate and retrieve.
- Imagine eliminating this ongoing storage cost from your business
- Imagine being able to find anything you want by searching on key words which may be in file names, or embedded inside a document
- It is now possible to store collateral centrally; to scan hard copy documents, create dynamic metadata and store digitally – thus rendering hard copy archives redundant. ABBYY® Intelligent OCR, for example, has the functionality to deliver this outcome for your business.
- Many copier/printer/scanners can now be supplied with this capability. RICOH® devices, for example, can be supplied with ABBYY® OCR functionality embedded.
